Get Right Into Your Top Priority
If you’re an entrepreneur, chances are you have a lot on your plate. That’s why it’s so important to prioritize what is most important to you and get right into it. If you’re having trouble making time for everything, start by putting all of your top priorities in writing. This will help keep them top of mind and ensure that they get done.
The best way to get right into your top priority is to put it first on your list. If you do this, you’ll be able to knock it off before other tasks on your list start creeping in and taking up the time that you need to accomplish your priority. Plus, knowing that you’ve finished something important will help motivate you to finish other tasks too!
When it comes to time management, the most important thing is to get right into your top priority.
The second thing is to get right back out of it.
I know this sounds like a contradiction, but it’s not. It’s just that you have to make sure that when you’re working on your top priority, you don’t spend too much time on other things.
And if you do, then those other things will take up more of your time and energy than they should and make it so that you can’t focus on what’s important at all!
Put The Important Things In Writing
If you’re an entrepreneur, you know that day-to-day tasks can be a little overwhelming.
One of the best ways to stay on top of everything is to put the important things in writing.
This doesn’t just mean to-do lists—it can also mean writing down your goals and objectives for the day, or even your mission statement. The point is that by putting it all down on paper (or digital document), you’re making sure that nothing slips through the cracks.
If you want to be as productive as possible, it’s a good idea to put the important things in writing. your brain is always going to be trying to figure out what is important, and that can cause a lot of mental clutter. But if you write down what needs to get done and when then your brain has fewer decisions to make about which things are most important. You’ll have more free time and energy for the stuff that matters most.
Reduce or Eliminate Time Drainers
The first step to effective time management is identifying the areas of your life where you’re wasting time. This can range from obvious things like social media and Netflix to more subtle ways of spending your time, like constantly checking your phone or email.
Once you’ve identified those time wasters, it’s time to figure out what you can do about them! Here are some ideas:
- Set a timer on your phone for an hour and see how long it takes for you to check it again. If it’s less than an hour, then set the timer for 2 hours and see how long it takes this time. Keep going until you reach 6-8 hours without checking in. Then try making it 12-16 hours before checking in again!
- Make a list of all the times during the day when you find yourself looking at your phone/computer/TV screen—and then set a timer for each one. Only allow yourself to look at these devices when the timer goes off!
- Ask yourself: “Is there something else I could be doing instead?” If so, do that instead!
Be Careful Of Your “Urgent” List
We all know that one person can’t seem to stay on top of their tasks, and it’s usually because they have a long list of things that are “urgent.” But what does that mean? Urgent is often just another word for important. And if you’re not careful, urgent can easily turn into important, and then you’ll never get around to doing anything else.
So how do you keep yourself from getting overwhelmed by all the urgent stuff? Here’s a tip: make sure every item on your urgent list has an end date by which it needs to be completed. If it doesn’t have one, put it back in the “to do” pile and set a deadline for when it needs to be done instead.
You can also use this strategy with things like emails or meetings—anything else on your calendar that isn’t going away just because you don’t want to do it right now!
Batch Similar Tasks Together
Many entrepreneurs find that they’re constantly switching between different types of tasks, which can make it hard to stay focused and productive. When you’re in the middle of a task, it’s hard to resist the urge to check your email or social media accounts. But if you batch similar tasks together, you’ll be able to get more done in less time. For example, if you know you have several phone calls scheduled for later in the day, schedule them all at once so that you can focus on each call without being interrupted by other responsibilities.
